Shooting Rachel - June and October 2017

This was my second shoot with Rachel. Like I have said before, she is really wonderful to work with. She is incredibly comfortable being in front of a camera and she really knows her angles and body well. Our first shoot is still one of my favorites, but this time we went for a more retro vibe. She had contacted me about a spot she thought might work well for the theme we wanted to achieve and I was on board when I saw the photo. It was a small auto shop that was COMPLETLEY orange, but we both loved it and off we were!

First, I took some of her in front of a church and then in direct sun (which I have been wanting to get better with), and then a few in front of the auto shop. I also experimented with putting her sunglasses in front of my lens. Growing in my photography is something I really like to do. I don’t just want to use a camera the same way everyone else does. So, I picked up her sunglasses and used them over my lens to try and get a cool result. Something you have to know is that sometimes your ideas will work and sometimes they turn out terrible. But that’s okay, because at least you tried the idea. The result from putting her sunglasses over my lens I actually liked. They are the photos that are much more orange and have somewhat of a rim in them. The last place we went was Kroger. LOL. While we were there we ran into Evan Bass who was on the bachelor. No big deal. ANYWAYS, I took some photos of her in the isles and also by some organic foods which sounds totally crazy but they did turn out pretty cool. I haven’t gotten to edit those yet, but I will post them soon.

xoxo Maria
